XPM ESU
Characteristics and suitability of use
Hardened steel to a value 38 - 42 HRC in ESU (ESR) quality. It is characterized by high toughness, wear resistance and good hot strength at working temperature. It is very suitable for texturing and is easy to machine and weld. Suitable for nitriding, hardness after nitriding 550 - 700 HV. The advantage is high homogeneity and cleanliness, therefore it is very suitable for polishing.
Use for the production of moulds for injection and pressing of plastics. Small, medium and large moulds, moulds inserts with a requirement for the highest surface quality. Applications e.g. transparent plastic parts, high gloss parts, car lights, car interior parts etc. Process temperature <250 °C.
Suitable as a variant for steel 1.2738 HH ESU (ESR).
